The Rural Fire Service Precision Tree Falling is back by popular demand at the 2018 Nowra Show. The state of the art Husqvarna chainsaws being used will be supplied by South Nowra Mowers and Chainsaws. Competitors in this spectacular event in the main arena on Saturday night will be attempting to fall poles standing 10 metres high on to a tiny 15cm wide target. On Saturday afternoon leading up to the main arena spectacle competitors will also have their skills tested in a series of elimination chainsaw events on the Added Area.
The tree falling display will decide who represents the Shoalhaven at the NSW Rural Fire Service State Championship to be held at Temora later in the year. RFS chainsaw operators from the Shoalhaven have had considerable success in these events in recent years, coming away with 2 wins and a second place from 3 appearances, showing just how strong our RFS volunteers are in chainsaw operation, due partly to a long history of involvement in the local timber industry.
